What I collect, and what I do with it.

Short version: if you send me your website through the teardown form, I keep your email long enough to reply and follow up. I don't sell it, share it for marketing, or add you to a mailing list.

Who is responsible

Creative Mess is a one-person studio run by Jay Kypers. I am the person accountable for personal information handled here. Questions, corrections or deletion requests go tohello@creativemess.ca, or +1 (226) 582-6566.

What the teardown form collects

When you submit the form, the following is stored:

  • The website address you enter
  • Your email address
  • Whatever you write in the description field
  • The date and time of the submission
  • The country your request came from, and your browser's user-agent string

The last two come automatically from the connection and are kept to tell real enquiries apart from automated spam. No IP address is stored, and there is no tracking cookie on this site.

Why I collect it

To read your website, write you a teardown, and follow up about it. That is the only purpose. Submitting the form is not a subscription: I will not send you a newsletter or a marketing sequence, and your details are never sold, rented or shared for anyone else's marketing.

How long it is kept

Teardown requests are kept for 24 months from the date you send them, then deleted. If we end up working together, records relating to that work are kept as long as I need them for business and tax purposes.

Where it is stored

Submissions are stored in a Cloudflare database and a notification is delivered to a private channel only I read. Cloudflare processes the data on my behalf as an infrastructure provider and may store or route it outside Canada; it is not used for their own purposes.

Getting a copy, or having it deleted

Email hello@creativemess.ca and ask. You can request a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. I will action deletion requests within 30 days and confirm when it is done. You do not need to give a reason.

Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and collects no personal information — it records page views and referrers in aggregate only, with no cross-site tracking and no profile of you. That is why there is no cookie banner: there are no cookies to consent to.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how I have handled your information, tell me first and I will try to fix it. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, which oversees PIPEDA, the federal law covering this.
